Falcon Beach - Press Releases

Fan Appreciation Day
Saturday March 24, 2007

It was a rainy Saturday afternoon when fans gathered in Sam the Record Man to catch a glimpse of their favourite Falcon Beach stars. To kick things off, indie rockers The Bicycles took centre stage and greeted everyone with a set of catchy, 70's inspired pop-rock songs. Once they had finished, M.C. Jeananne Goossen invited the cast to the stage and welcomed everyone to the highly anticipated 'Fan Appreciation Day.' From there, fans split their time between watching The Golden Dogs' and The Miniatures' performances and mingling with the Falcon Beach Cast.

The Bicycles

The Bicycles want their music to reflect who they are as people, as a band, and their outlook on the world - which sounds really boring - but think of all that set to a crisp bit of tambourine. Snappy! Basically, The Bicycles like to have fun. Admittedly borrowing from the 60's and 70's, their catchy, crush-worthy songs manage to reach a more dynamic sound, with their intricate arrangements, variety of instrumentation and quality production.

The Golden Dogs

The Golden Dogs know that performing a live high-flying set is their calling card. Fortunately, The Golden Dogs' manic energy isn't limited to the stage. On their new record, Big Eye Little Eye, the band takes all that shambled vigour from their live performances and lays it down on disc. With blistering solos and belted out harmonies, this Ontario, quintet plays without missing a note and delivers like they were veteran rockers.

The Miniatures

The Miniatures have, after over a decade of honing their considerable talents, created music that holds unfaltering themes and powerful images. The end result of their music is a rolling, pulsing, ambitious tour through Smiths-like poetic musings on the human condition. Originally from Ontario, The Miniatures' music is executed with passion and conviction that sticks in the hearts and ears of listeners and achieves an almost supernatural quality of lifting the human spirit. This is music to believe in. The Miniatures believe in rock 'n' roll, and so will you once you hear them.
