International Hit Series FALCON BEACH Has Introduced The World To Canada's Best Musical Artists
And Now See Them Live At Sam the Record Man March 24, 2007
(Toronto- March 15, 2007) Another season of the international hit TV series Falcon Beach comes to an end. But it echoes on with a live appearance/ performance-session at Sam the Record Man, March 24, featuring some of the hottest music heard on the series.
From the cast meet Steve Byers, Jennifer Kydd, Morgan Kelly, Jeananne Goossen and Peter Mooney with performances by the Bicycles, the Golden Dogs and The Miniatures.
The Global TV series from Original Pictures and Insight Productions is seen across Canada on Friday nights at 8 pm (ET/PT) and ABC Family in the U.S., and will soon be seen in more than 30 countries worldwide.
This "reach" has provided an unparalleled springboard for Canadian artists, providing a vibrant aural backdrop for sun-drenched romance, and character fuelled storylines. In season two Falcon Beach's stellar line-up of Canadian artists included Bedouin Soundclash, Tomi Swick, Cuff the Duke, Jill Barber and Castle Project.
The show's music supervisor, Sarah Webster - one of the keenest ears for talent in the country - scours the rosters of major and indie labels alike looking for new tunes and artists with the "it" factor. And for the second year in a row, the show held its Calling All Indie Bands Music Search, an open invitation to artists all over the country, with or without label representation, to submit music. After an avalanche of responses, this season's mega-talents included Art of Dying, Paper Moon, Danielle French and T. Nile.
"We have been committed to Canadian music since we started the series," says Producer Shannon Farr. "It started with selecting Beautiful Blue by Winnipeg's Holly McNarland for our theme song. Some of the best music in the world is coming out of Canada right now, so it works marvelously for us. And of course, if we can help this music be heard outside of Canada, we couldn't be happier."
Now what better way to meet some of the Canadian bands featured on the series, as well as the cast from the show, but live, and on stage?
