More Canadian Indie Bands to experience exposure enjoyed by Emm Gryner, Dala and Neverending White Lights as their music is heard in over 100 million homes worldwide!
(WINNIPEG - Monday, July 10, 2006) Original Pictures and Insight Productions, producers of the hit one-hour drama series Falcon Beach, seen on Global Television in Canada and ABC Family in the U.S., announced today their 2nd Annual Music Call. All Canadian indie bands are being asked to submit their songs for consideration. The successful candidates will have their song, or songs, featured on one of thirteen new episodes currently being shot in Manitoba!
"The response to last year’s Music Call was overwhelming" said Falcon Beach music supervisor Sarah Webster. “We received hundreds of submissions from artists across the country and were able to feature many of them in the show”.
This new call for submissions comes on the heels of the June 27th release of Falcon Beach - The Soundtrack of Your Summer, Volume 1, a CD from Universal Music featuring a selection of songs from Season 1. Falcon Beach, which premiered this past January in Canada, recently rolled into 87 million homes across the U.S., courtesy of the Disney-owned U.S. broadcaster ABC Family. Falcon Beach - The Soundtrack of Your Summer, Volume 1 includes 16 tracks by artists such as Bedouin Soundclash, Sarah McLachlan and Lifehouse as well as three artists from last year’s Music Call – Emm Gryner, Dala and Neverending White Lights.
“We are thrilled to once again be looking for great Canadian music and musicians to feature on our show,” comments Falcon Beach co-creator and producer Shannon Farr. “Right now Canadian music is experiencing unprecedented world-wide recognition and with sales in over 20 territories around the world, Falcon Beach can help perpetuate that phenomenon.”
To be eligible for consideration, bands must have a professionally mastered recording available on CD. All entries must be submitted by October 2, 2006 and include, a CD, bio, contact information and signed submission release. Submission releases are available for download on the Falcon Beach official website at www.falconbeach.ca.
