FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEGlobal Television Confirms Season Two Order Of Original Primetime Drama Series "Falcon Beach"
Global Television today confirmed the renewal of a 13-episode order with Insight Productions/Original Pictures for season two of the popular young adult drama, Falcon Beach.
Start of production for Falcon Beach is slated to heat up beginning Summer 2006 in Manitoba, Canada.
"We're delighted to continue our support of the Canadian production community, and bring the excitement of this original series back to our primetime schedule for '06-'07," said Barbara Williams, Senior Vice President of Programming and Production for CanWest MediaWorks. "Falcon Beach is a great example of the kind of well written, compelling drama series that we're currently developing and producing for our audiences coast-to-coast."
Falcon Beach tells the story of local and vacationing young men and women sharing three months together in a fictional waterfront community on the shores of Lake Winnipeg. The passions and personalities of each of the characters - their complex, often steamy relationships and tentative alliances - were first revealed to Canadian audiences when Global Television presented the original two-hour made-for-tv Falcon Beach movie in December 2004. The subsequent season-one order from the network kick-started the highly buzzed new franchise - debuting nationally, in HD, to fan and critical acclaim on January 5th, 2006.
CanWest MediaWorks will announce additional primetime production orders in the coming months.
Falcon Beach is produced by Insight Productions and Original Pictures, in association with Global Television. The series was created by John Murray and Shannon Farr. Executive Producers John Brunton, Kim Todd and Barbara Bowlby, with producers Kim Todd, John Murray and Shannon Farr.
